2 city council should ensure the posting is filled so that work of the planning commission is not <br />hindered <br />1. Elected officials and governments should not wait for elections to carry out their duties. <br />Things take too long as it is. <br />1. The currently elected council should fulfill their duties. If people want planning <br />commissioners to be elected then they should change the law to make that happen <br />1 the current one has done a lousy job! <br />1 the city counsel should not have to wait since the position is appointed and not voted by the <br />public anyways. Why potentially delay decisions due to an even vote? <br />1 don't politicize the well established process. <br />1 Appoint as planned with current council. <br />How long is the appointment for? I'd give it a 2. <br />1 they should carry out the duties they are meant to do. That's how this works <br />2 1 get angry when Congress makes excuses for delaying valid appointments based on the <br />"ruling" party politics (e.g. supreme court nominees) so I can't have different standards for local <br />government... <br />1 - because Merrick Garland <br />1. Let's not start the politic games now. While I am in favor of slowing down growth that should <br />not have a bearing on letting the council do their job. In fact, if there remain six members on <br />the commission there is the potential of ties on any votes on development which could lead to <br />delays. The open position should be appointed now so that the commission can do its job as <br />well. <br />2. Let the City Council do its job <br />
