AP2018- <br />008 FOR 330 GRAND STREET <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Applicant, Daniel Biermann, on behalf of David Welch, filed an <br />application for an Architectural Permit to demolish an existing home constructed in 1930 <br />and to allow construction of a new two-story home (the Project) located at 330 Grand <br />Street, Redwood City, California (the Property); and <br />WHEREAS, the Historian’s Report, dated May 10, 2018, by Richard Brandi, found <br />that the existing home at 330 Grand Street is not an individual historic landmark under <br />the criteria of the California Register of Historical Resources (CRHR) or Chapter 40 of the <br />Redwood City Municipal Code (the Historic Preservation Ordinance), but that it could <br />qualify as a contributor to a potential Mt. Carmel historic district; and <br />WHEREAS, on May 24, 2018, the Historic Resources Advisory Committee <br />(HRAC) of the City of Redwood City held a duly noticed public hearing in accordance with <br />all applicable requirements of the State Planning and Zoning Law and the Redwood City <br />Zoning Ordinance, to consider the Historian’s Report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on May 24, 2018, the HRAC adopted a resolution finding that the <br />existing home at 330 Grand Street is not eligible for listing on the CRHR or as an individual <br />local historic landmark, but that the existing Property could qualify as a contributor to a <br />potential Mt. Carmel historic district; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on July 6, 2018, a public hearing notice for the July 17, 2018 Planning <br />Commission public hearing was published in the San Mateo Daily Journal and mailed to <br />interested parties and all property owners within 300 feet of the Property; and <br />WHEREAS, on July 17, 2018, the Planning Commission of the City of Redwood <br />City (Planning Commission) held a duly noticed public hearing in accordance with all <br />applicable requirements of the State Planning and Zoning Law and the Redwood City <br />Zoning Ordinance, to consider the application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on July 17, 2018, the Planning Commission fully reviewed, <br />considered, and evaluated the staff report prepared for the Project including the <br />attachments to the staff report, oral and written public testimony, and all other documents <br />and evidence in the public record on the Project; and <br />
