<br />building connected by the Fiber Network ceases to be used as a public building, such <br />building shall be disconnected from the Fiber Network at the City's expense. <br /> <br />"Fiber Network Equipment" means the electronic switching and edge equipment and <br />associated facilities required to activate the Fiber Network and control the transmission of <br />signals through the Fiber Network. <br /> <br />"Fiber Network Node" means an exchange point in the signal distribution system where <br />optical signals are converted to RF signals. <br /> <br />"Fiber Network Plant" means dedicated single-mode fiber, splicing, passive components, <br />and support structures, which will generally be installed by Grantee and made available <br />for Fiber Network uses. <br /> <br />"Fiber Network Site" means one of the sites listed in Attachment A to this Agreement. <br /> <br />"Fiber Optic" means the physical fiber optic strands which are used as a transmission <br />medium, capable of carrying services by means of electric lightwave impulses. <br /> <br />"Franchise" means the Cable System Franchise Agreement entered into between Grantee <br />and the City on March I, 2006. <br /> <br />"Franchise Area" has the same meaning as set forth in the Franchise. <br /> <br />"GIS" means geographical information systems. <br /> <br />"Government Access" means Access where City governmental institutions or their <br />designees are the primary users having editorial control over programming and services. <br /> <br />"Headend" means the primary facility used by Grantee for signal reception and <br />dissemination on the Cable System, including cables, antennas, wires, satellite dishes, <br />monitors, switchers, modulators, and processors for broadcast signals. <br /> <br />"Hub" means an intermediary exchange point in the signal distribution portion of the <br />Cable System (including the Fiber Network), located between the Headend and the <br />Nodes. <br /> <br />"Integrated Fiber Network Backbone" means those Fiber Optics which are dedicated to <br />the City that are integrated into the Fiber Optic network of Grantee's Subscriber <br />Network, from the Headend to each Node in the City. <br /> <br />"Legally Compatible" has the meaning given in Section 2.2. <br /> <br />"Maintenance" means maintenance of the Fiber Network in conjunction with the <br />Subscriber Network, according to FCC standards. Maintenance will be limited to the <br />Grantee's Demarcation Point at each Fiber Network Site. <br /> <br />3 <br />
