Park and Recreation Commission Page 2 <br />Minutes of February 22, 2006 <br /> <br />th <br />ITEM 2 – 4 of JULY PARADE PARTICIPATION <br /> <br />th <br />Chairperson Slusser announced the invitations to participate in the 4 of July <br />Parade will be mailed out soon and will be due back on May 15. He <br />suggested a sub-committee be formed to develop ideas on ways the <br />Commission could participate and Commissioner Joseph indicated she might <br />be interested. This item will be placed on the March agenda for further <br />discussion. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 – UPDATES <br /> <br />-Park Development Ordinance <br />Superintendent Hover said that staff is meeting with the consultant this <br />Friday regarding the Nexus Study. <br /> <br />-Park Rules <br />Superintendent Hover stated that he met with Vice Chairperson White and <br />Commissioners Joseph and Morton to work on the latest revision to the Park <br />Rules. The document is now being circulated to the department Managers <br />and the Police Department for additional feedback. Staff estimated the park <br />rules will come back to the Commission at their April meeting. <br /> <br />-Pet Parade <br />Commissioner Joseph announced she met with Superintendent Beth <br />regarding plans for the Pet Parade. She gave an update of their progress <br />and spoke about various ideas for the event. <br /> <br />-Parks for the Future <br />Director Centeno gave an update on this matter and said a determination has <br />yet to be made if this item will be placed on the November ballot. <br /> <br />-Neighborhood Garden <br />Superintendent Hover stated he is still waiting for the agreement from the <br />San Francisco City Attorney. Once received, this document will need to be <br />approved by our City Council. <br /> <br />-Synthetic Field Turf Project <br />Superintendent Hover said this project in currently in the design phase, <br />which should be completed in mid-May. <br /> <br />-Downtown Square <br />Director Centeno said the request for bids for this project will be made at the <br />March 13 Council meeting. The project should be completed in September. <br />Superintendent Hover announced that restrooms will now be included in the <br />project. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
