National Plant Services, Inc. <br />successfully completed CCTV inspection of all sewer mains within Redwood Shores in <br />2018 under a previous contract with the City. <br />Having an on-call, as needed Agreement will also allow City staff the means and <br />flexibility to conduct CCTV inspections for planned sanitary sewer basin inspections and <br />urgent matters. <br />If approved by Council, National Plant Services, Inc. will conduct closed-circuit <br />television (CCTV) inspection on an on-call, as needed basis for a duration of two years. <br />The City Manager may also amend the Agreement to extend it for two additional periods <br />of six months in the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) for each six month <br />period. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />The City Council may choose not to enter the proposed agreement with National Plant <br />Services, Inc. and direct staff to interview other qualified firms. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds for CCTV inspection services have been previously appropriated as Sewer Fund <br />Capital Projects — CCTV Program which has an available balance of $328,403.34 and <br />Sewer Fund Capital Projects -Collection System Replacement Program which has an <br />available balance of $5,650,597.36 as of June 30, 2018. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />As the lead agency, City of Redwood City has determined that the investigative actions <br />proposed in this report are exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act <br />(CEQA) as set forth in Section 15301 (Existing Facilities) of the CEQA Regulations in <br />that the agreement calls for the inspection and of existing sanitary sewer and storm <br />drain lines and cleaning for that purpose. <br />JEFFREY CHOU <br />ASSISTANT ENGINEER 11 <br />
