Ball, Inc. <br />McGuire and Hester <br />Engineer's Estimate: $5,500,000.00. <br />M <br />$5,552,900.00 <br />$5,942,905.00 <br />$6,351,564,00 <br />Corrected Bid <br />$5,553,436.00 <br />$5,942,905.00 <br />$6,351,750.00 <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Do not award the contract for Magical Bridge Playground and re -advertise the project. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The project is a playground for all abilities and is largely funded by donations. The City <br />has worked very closely with the Magical Bridge Foundation, and they have secured <br />nearly $3 million in corporate, foundation and individual donations. The City has <br />appropriated Park Impact Fees of $2 million, and $554,000 in Capital Improvement <br />Funds for the Magical Bridge Playground project. Currently, $5,553,436.00 is available <br />for construction. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />As the lead agency, City of Redwood City has determined that the Red Morton Park <br />Westside Renovation Project is categorically exempt from the requirements of the <br />California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines pursuant to: <br />§ Section 15301 Class 1 "Existing Facilities" for the minor alteration of existing <br />public structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, <br />involving negligible expansion of use. <br />§ Section 15302 Class 2 "Replacement or Reconstruction" for the replacement or <br />reconstruction of existing facilities and paths where the new facilities will be <br />located on the same site as the area replaced and will have substantially the <br />same purpose and capacity. <br />§ Section 15304 Class 4 "Minor Alterations to Land" for the construction of new <br />pathways, bicycle paths, changes to existing landscaping, grading, and cut and <br />fill of soils. <br />§ Section 15311 Class 11 "Accessory Structures" for the construction of <br />appurtenant structures (e.g. playground equipment, volleyball court, seating <br />areas) in a publicly owned park. <br />
