Collaborating Entities <br /> <br />This project will succeed with the partnerShip of agencies such as Golden Gate Regional <br />Center. P area, Kainos Horne and Training C enter. the V 0 Weer Center of San Mateo and San <br />Francisco. the City of San Carlos, the City of San Bruno and more. Although the City of <br />Redwood City will be managing the program, the mentoring program will be open to everyone in <br />San Mateo County who wishes to attend Redwood City Recreation Services. <br /> <br />The Golden Gate Regional Center will be essenria1 in mar\Ĺ“ting our mentoring program and <br />potentially providing funding to their clients to attend our recreation programs. Pares and Kainos <br />are both major group bomes in San Mateo County. !bat will also prove to be imperative when <br />promoting the program and encouraging individuals to join. The Volunteer Center will provide <br />necessary training and resources when finding a volunteer coordinator and potential mentors. <br />Along with the City of Redwood City, the City of San Bruno and the City of San Carlos are the <br />only local city government agencies providing specialized services on the Peninsula- They will be <br />of great supPOrt by adding their infurma!ÌOB to our RecreaÛon Guide, providing more choi<:es to <br />people with disabilities and additionally, may be the next agencies to fuUow in our full-inclusion <br />footstePS. Lastly, we will also be working with the Sequoia Union High School District who will <br />be able to market this program to their students, in hopes of obtaining new participants and <br />volunteer mentors. <br /> <br />1\ <br /> <br />K. Dissemination I Replicati06 Plan <br /> <br />people with developmenW disabi1ities are among the most vulnerable members of society <br />and. historically, it bas been difficult for them to be fully included in community life. Helping <br />people with deveiopmenta1 disabilities overcome barriers and become ful\ participants in societY <br />presents major challenges for governments. voluntarY organizations and; no one can do it alone. <br />BuildIDg working partnerships is essential to successful inclusion of people with developmental <br />disabilities within the community. Community Inclusion Initiatives help forge and maintain <br />partnerships. <br /> <br />The City of Redwood City is committed to the full and equal participation of people with <br />disabilities in our paIks and recreation programs. Through Community Inclusion projects, local <br />communiûes will be trained on how to develop their own strategies and promote customized <br />approaches to eliminate banier> faced by people with disabilities and their fumilies. Projects will <br />involve partnerships and cooperation between different levels of government, non-profit agencies, <br />business and more. <br /> <br />Below you will find our training model which will be a key component to implementing the <br />Coll1ß1UllÌty Inclusion Initiative. It details how training and partnerships will be executed and <br />information filtered across San Mateo County. <br />
