5. 1 strongly support reducing carbon emissions not only for climate change but also for
pollution reduction.
5. Yes absolutely. I would love to see what work on this Redwood City has already done but we
need to solidify plans and build on it even more.
S. Redwood City is not a podunk town. We have 85,000 residents, and we're in the middle of a
huge region and economic engine. We not only can, but should be a leader in municipal
Climate Change policy.
5 actions must be taken at local levels as well as at State, federal, and international levels. In
fact, local, individual education and action is really important, because we are all in this
together.
5 - I want to leave the world a better place than I found it and this is a step in that direction
S. Everyone from the Pentagon to world leaders to all the
worlds engineers, economists, scientists, and educators agree - climate change is the gravest
threat facing humanity and we must act NOW to reverse it. The survival of our species and life
as we know it depends on it. Mass extinction events have happened before and they will
definitely happen again. Redwood City should lead the way for local actions.
4 - Redwood City has a waterfront along the San Francisco Bay and will likely be increasingly
impacted by climate change directly, we should plan and prepare accordingly.
5, but what is the plan??
5 I'm torn on this. I'm a huge supporter of action on climate change, but any action by the city
should have real effect and not just be a declaration. Examples would be measures to promote
efficiency, such as LED conversions, and building code changes.
5. Climate change is real, and it's disappointing that we debate scientific facts
