ORIGINAL <br />HEARING OFFICER AGREEMENT WITH <br />EDWARD J. JOHNSON <br />FOR HEARING OFFICER SERVICES <br />THIS HEARING OFFICER AGREEMENT FOR HEARING OFFICER SERVICES <br />("Agreement") is entered into on this 5a day of Oe$uIl,� 2018 <br />("EFFECTIVE DATE") by and between the City of Redwood City ("CITY"), and Edward J. <br />Johnson, a sole proprietor ("CONSULTANT"), with reference to the following facts and <br />intentions: <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, CITY desires to secure administrative hearing officer services in <br />administrative matters where violations of the Redwood City Code have been alleged and <br />where the City has received a request for a hearing; and <br />WHEREAS, CITY requires the assistance of a hearing officer with expertise in <br />administering and conducting administrative appeal hearings and the ability to assist <br />CITY in handling other matters that may rise out of or be related to the administration <br />thereof; and <br />WHEREAS, CONSULTANT hereby warrants to CITY that CONSULTANT is skilled <br />and able to provide such services described in this Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, CITY desires to retain CONSULTANT pursuant to this Agreement to <br />provide the services described in this Agreement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises, covenants, and <br />agreements subject to the terms and conditions set forth herein, the parties agree as <br />follows: <br />AGREEMENT <br />1. SCOPE OF WORK. CONSULTANT will act as the CITY's hearing officer <br />responsible for timely conducting hearings on appeals.
