7. STAFF REPORTS <br />A. Dates for Budget Consideration <br />City Manager Everett stated that as in previous years, the last two Mondays in <br />June are set to be considered for budget study sessions, and if needed, <br />Wednesday, June 28. <br />Recommendation: <br />M/S Bain /Foust to set the time and place for the budget study sessions and public <br />hearing. (404) <br />RESOLUTION 14696 RATIFYING AND APPROVING SUBMITTAL DATE FOR <br />PROPOSED BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2006/07, SETTING TIME AND PLACE FOR <br />CITY COUNCIL BUDGET STUDY, SESSIONS AND FOR HEARING THEREON, AND <br />ESTABLISHING DATE OF ADOPTION OF THE FINAL BUDGET FOR SAID FISCAL <br />YEAR <br />The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote. <br />B. Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement with DPR Construction, Inc. for <br />Providing Construction Management/General Contractor (CM /GC) Services <br />for Phase II of the Historic Courthouse Reconstruction, Courthouse Square <br />CDS Director Patterson explained that this is finishing up the design process that <br />has taken over 2 -1/2 years, numerous public meetings, City Council, Planning <br />Commission and Architectural Review Committee meetings as well as internal staff <br />member meetings. It is now time to work on the final phase, which is construction. <br />Amendment No. 1 allows construction to begin on Monday, March 20 and will <br />provide for public restrooms next to the old annex on Hamilton Street, although <br />there is no final design on that as yet. He further stated that public notification has <br />occurred and the anticipated completion date is September 29, 2006. <br />Council comments included that when the funds are available, the money be put <br />back into the child care acquisition fund. Questions about the restroom design <br />were asked with a response that the Council Downtown subcommittee had studied <br />the alternatives and determined that the best possible custom design be used to <br />match the surroundings. Some landscaping will assist in the blending.
