Park and Recreation Commission Page 3 <br />Minutes of March 22, 2006 <br />ITEM 3 – SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />th <br />-4 of July Parade <br />th <br />Commissioner Swope asked that a sub-committee work on ideas for the 4 <br />of July Parade float. Vice Chairperson White and Commissioner Joseph <br />volunteered to participate. <br /> <br />-Art & Wine Festival <br />Commissioner Joseph said she spoke with Chairperson Slusser regarding this <br />proposed event. This item will be placed on the April agenda. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 – UPDATES <br /> <br />-Park Rules <br />Superintendent Hover stated that he met with the Assistant City Attorney <br />today regarding this item and it will be placed on the April agenda. <br /> <br />-Pet Parade <br />th <br />Commissioner Joseph reported on the events planned for the 5 Annual Pet <br />Parade on Saturday, April 29. She invited any Commissioners to participate <br />on the committee. <br /> <br />-Parks for the Future <br />Director Centeno announced that sample ballot language is being reviewed <br />by focus groups. It appears the item will be on the November 2006 ballot. <br /> <br />-Neighborhood Garden <br />Superintendent Hover stated he is still waiting for the documents from the <br />San Francisco City Attorney. Superintendent Beth announced that materials <br />are being collected for the garden behind the NFL Alumni Building. <br /> <br />-Downtown Square <br />Superintendent Beth gave a brief update on the project to the Commission. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />Commissioner Swope said she received a call this evening from <br />Superintendent Gemma of the Sequoia Union High School District, advising <br />her of a Board of Trustees meeting on Thursday, March 23 at 5:30pm. At <br />the meeting, Dr. Gemma will recommend to the Board that Redwood High <br />School be left at its current location and that portable classrooms for Summit <br />High School be placed on the Sequoia High School tennis courts. The <br />meeting will be open to the public and will be held at 480 James Avenue. <br /> <br />
