E. - Page 49 <br />we are in receipt of the Grand Jury's final report entitled; "Smoke -Free Multiunit Housing: No ifs, Ands, <br />Or Butts." <br />Pursuant to your July 26, 2018 request for response, the Daly City, City Council held a public meeting on <br />September 24, 2018 and approved this response. The City of Daly City responds to the Grand Jury's <br />findings, conclusions and recommendations as follows: <br />Findings: <br />F1. Since 1967, exposure to secondhand smoke has killed approximately 2.5 million nonsmokers of <br />all ages in the United States. <br />Response: The City agrees with this finding. <br />F2. Enforcement officers report that their primary focus when responding to MUH smoking <br />violation complaints is to educate alleged smokers regarding the requirements of the <br />smoking ordinances, and that most alleged smokers report being unfamiliar with the <br />requirements of the ordinance. <br />Response: The City agrees with this finding. <br />
