1- let's come up with parking solutions rather than punitive measures which are proven to <br />disproportionately hurt lower income residents. <br />1 absolutely not. <br />It is a tax on poor people. <br />Redwood city does not <br />have a serious parking <br />problem. <br />1. The city should not have incentive to give out tickets just for the income. That is a perverse <br />incentive. <br />1. I'd rather the city help homeowners/renters develop additional off-street parking (grants for <br />parking pads, for example) <br />1. Many of my neighbors are sharing apartments or homes and have no dedicated parking <br />spaces but need a car to get to work. I'd prefer parking stickers to help ensure space for <br />everyone (and cheaper and more frequent transit to help everyone move around without a car <br />No hire more officers to enforce traffic laws such as speeding on farm hill <br />1 (strongly oppose): there are already so many factors making it difficult for lower income <br />families to live in this area. It seems like RWC should take other, more inclusive steps towards <br />improving parking options rather than these punitive measures. <br />2 - It doesn't make sense to compound the inconvenience of our housing shortage by <br />punishing people who can't afford a dedicated parking spot. At the same time, the elderly <br />and disabled should have more opportunity to park near their homes/businesses. <br />1. 1 agree it ends up charging those who can't afford it. <br />2 - seems like a waste of $$ <br />They can't really afford to do this. Asking a sales tax increase to do what they have to do now. <br />1, don't like the idea of getting a ticket for parking in front of my own house, if I'm away on <br />business (which happens alot) or vacation. <br />
