The RRFB applications at the intersections of Woodstock Place and Whipple Avenue <br />and Iris Street and Whipple Avenue are evaluated using CA MUTCD. The criteria required are <br />presented in Tab le 2. All warrant criteria are required to be met to provide recommendation for <br />implementation_ <br />Table 2. Flashina Beacons at School Crosswalks Warrant Criteria <br />Criteria <br />Description <br />A <br />The uncontrolled school crossing is on the 'Su ested Route to School" <br />At least 40 school pedestrians use the crossing during each of any two hours <br />B <br />(not necessarily consecutive} of a normal school day. <br />The crossing is at least 600 feet from the nearest alternate crossing controlled by <br />C <br />traffic signals, stop signs or crossing guards. <br />The vehicular volume through the crossing exceeds 200 vehicles per hour in <br />D <br />urban areas or 140 vehicles per hour in rural areas during the same hour the <br />students are going to and from school during normal school hours. <br />The critical approach speeds exceeds 35 mph or the approach visibility is less <br />E <br />than the stopping sight distance. <br />
