WHAT WENT WRONG!
1. How did things get this far! How much tax payer money has been wasted on unnecessary
studies and proposals? Not to mention staff time on the project!
2. Lack of notice: We never received notification of the design proposal, which is a legal
requirement
3. The newly proposed design has a direct and negative impact to mine and my neighbor's
property. Our homes will lose value and we will lose valuable street parking
4. The responsible action would be to
a) restripe the existing crosswalk, which should have been done years ago
b) update the City code to eliminate the driveway/crosswalk, if that is the issue
c) prioritize tax dollars to solve problems, not create more hazards with bulb -outs
Based on this, how can we trust that our existing tax dollars are being expended responsibly?
Why would we vote in favor of prop RR to raise taxes!
Local Funding
Measures
f2.61io *►l1e[rll
In order to prevent cuts to core City services,
the City Council unanimously voted to place a
half -cent sales tax measure on the November
ballot. If approved, this measure would generate
approximately $8 million annually, which would be
entirely dedicated to essential City services here
in Redwood City, such as: protecting the safety
of Redwood City residents, maintaining rapid
911 emergency response times, supporting fire,
paramedic and police services, providing recreation
and afterschocl programs that keep kids safe and
maintaining library hours and programs. By law,
sales tax revenue cannot be taken away by the
State and all local sales tax dollars must stay here
to fund local services in Redwood City. Essential
purchases like groceries and medicine would be
exempt. The measure would add 50 cents to a
$100 purchase.
