~13~1,~,.-%~/' FO~ ~ CONI'~.O'L <br /> ~ ~ CZ~ O~ ~00~ CZ~ <br />-- CO~ OF S~ ~TEO <br /> <br /> ~IS AGREEM~, made ~d entered into/effective this <br /> day of ~ by and between the CO~ OF <br /> political[~s~division of the State of California (hereinafter <br /> %"CO~")Y ~d ~he CI~ OF ~DWOOD CI~, a Califo~ia m~icipal <br /> co~oration, (hereinafter "CI~"); <br /> <br /> WITNESSETH <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the CITY has passed and is responsible for enforcing <br /> local ordinances governingthe regulation, licensing and impounding <br /> of certain animals within the territorial lim/ts of the CITY; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the CITY wishes to contract with the COU1TI"f for the <br /> performance of the hereinafter described animal control sea-vices <br /> within its boundaries by the CO~; and <br /> <br /> WHERP_J~S, the COUN~/ is agreeable to rendering such ser~zices on <br /> the terms and conditions as hereinafter set forth; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such contracts are authorized and provided for by <br />- Sections 51300, et seq. of the California Government Code a_nd under <br /> 5he parties respective police powers. <br /> <br /> THEREFORE, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> A. DEFINITIONS <br /> <br /> The following definitions shall apply to the terms used in this <br /> Agreement. <br /> <br /> ADOPTION: The placement of an unowned or relinquished animal in a <br /> new home. <br /> <br /> IMPOUNDED ANIMAL: One that has been picked up by an Animal Control <br /> Officer or other public official or by a private citizen and <br /> deposited at the shelter for redemption by owner. <br /> <br /> ANIMAL CONTROL PROGP-%M: The program within the Division of Animal <br /> Control Sez-vices of the Environmental Services Agency of the COUNTY <br /> cf San Mateo, or San Mateo COUNTY's designated contract agent, or <br /> both, or such other agency as the COUNTY Board of Supervisors may <br /> designate, which is specifically charged with regulating and <br /> <br /> 1 <br /> <br /> Attachment 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
