6.B. - Page 183 of 366 <br />statement certifying that the employee is medically qualified <br />to assume regular duties and responsibilities. <br />9.6.2.4 The Personnel Officer or his/her designee may designate the <br />specific beginning and ending dates within the pay period <br />requested by the employee to meet the needs of the employee <br />and the City. <br />9.6.3 The employee on leave shall be retumed to an equivalent position within <br />her classification. <br />9.6.4 A pregnancy leave, absent physical disability, is granted without pay for <br />the duration of the leave. The employee may elect to continue medical <br />and dental insurance coverage for up to one (1) year during that leave at <br />her own expense. <br />The combination of pregnancy leave and parental leave shall not exceed <br />one (1) year. <br />9.7 Leave for Pregnancy Disabili <br />9.7.1 Employees whe are working—are entitled to use personal illness and <br />injury leave for disabilities caused or contributed to by pregnancy, <br />miscarriage, childbirth, and recovery therefrom on the same terms and <br />conditions governing leaves of absence for other illness or medical <br />disability, and in accordance with the City's policy on Pregnancy <br />Disability Leave in effect as of the date of this agreement, and as <br />subsequently amended subject to notice to the Association and the <br />opportunity to meet and confer_ where required by law. <br />Family Medical Leave and Pregnancy Disability Leave will run <br />concurrently with Parental leave as permitted by law. <br />9.8 Parental Leave of Absence <br />A male or female employee may be granted, at the Police Chief's discretion, a <br />leave of absence without pay to fulfill parenting responsibilities for up to one (1) <br />year following the child's birth or one (1) year following the filing of application <br />for adoption and actual arrival of a child in the home. <br />The combination of pregnancy leave and parental leave shall not exceed one (1) <br />year. <br />Family Medical Leave, Pregnancy Disability Leave, and California Family Rights <br />Act Leave will run concurrently with Parental Leave as permitted by law. <br />9.9 Absence Notification <br />202 <br />
