6.B. - Page 184 of 366 <br />Failure on the part of an employee to report for duty or notify the designated <br />management official one-half (112) hour prior to the employee's scheduled <br />starting time as to a reason why the employee cannot report may subject the <br />employee to disciplinary action. <br />9.10 Bereavement Leave <br />9.10.1 In the event of a death in the immediate family of an employee of the <br />City, that employee shall, upon request, be granted such time off with <br />pay as is necessary to make arrangements for the funeral and attend <br />same, not to exceed three (3) regularly scheduled working days or four <br />(4) days in the event the funeral is three hundred (300) or more miles <br />from the City. <br />9.10.2 For the purpose of this provision, the immediate family shall be <br />restricted to father, mother, brother, sister, spouse, domestic partner, <br />child, half brother, half sister, step brother, step sister, mother-in-law, <br />father-in-law, grandparent, grandparent -in-law, great grandparent, <br />grandchild, great grandchild, stepfather, stepmother, stepchild and step <br />grandchild. <br />9.10.3 In the event of the death of an active City employee, the City will excuse <br />(without loss of pay) those employees who wish to attend the locally <br />conducted funeral only to the extent it does not interfere with the <br />operation of the City. <br />9.10.4 Bereavement leave applies only in instances in which the employee <br />attends the funeral, or is required to make funeral arrangements, but is <br />not applicable for other purposes, such as settling the estate of the <br />deceased. <br />9.11 Family and Medical Leave <br />In accordance with the California Family Rights Act of 1991 and, the Family and <br />Medical Leave Act of 1993, end City Pehc gulaf Pa14 }imp „a f1" time <br />employees with one eof s v gualifing employees are entitled to <br />Family and Medical Leave_ in accordance with City Administrative Policy in <br />effect as of the date of this agreement, and as subsequently amended, subject to <br />notice to the Association and the onnortunity to meet and confer where reouired <br />by law <br />Parental Leave, California Family Rights Act Leave and Pregnancy Disability <br />Leave will run concurrently with Family Medical Leave as permitted by law. <br />SECTION 10.
