Briefly desribe the present physical appearance of the property, including condition, boundaries, related <br />features, surroundings, and (if appropriate), architectural style. <br />127 Finger is a simple rectangular box of one story with a small projecting block at the left rear. The roof is flat, but with a slight <br />slope downwards toward the back, relieved only by a parapet which has a pair of projecting blocks at the front comers. Brick <br />cladding provides the primary source of visual interest. The brick's overall coursing pattern is common bond (that is, it has <br />periodic header courses of smaller bricks), but the wall surface has been enlivened by the insertion of numerous roughened or <br />irregularly shaped bricks, some of which project quite a bit from the wall surface. Incorporated into the structure's simple and <br />rough-hewn design are a few subtle refinements. At the front is a projecting porch which extends across the entire facade. Its <br />square wooden columns support a plain entablature and pent roof covered with red tile. A small porch attached to the block <br />projecting from the left rear of the house is similarly treated. Both have unadorned wooden porch rails. The columns and <br />entablature, as simple and austere as they are, are restrained classical features.
