R 5McMansions are a blight on neighborhoods.
+7 5 Design guidelines definitely need to be better. Many newer homes are too big and don't
respect the look/feel of the surrounding neighborhood.
R 4 While I appreciate the desire to increase housing capacity, and think that in-law units
and garage modifications as well as modest 2nd storey additions could help house more
families in the area, I am in strong opposition to allowing large single family homes to
replace the modest ones that currently exist. Please help us preserve the working and
middle class feel of our neighborhoods. Ostentatious homes are an affront to those of us
scraping to get by, and take up too much footprint for single families when so many other
families are struggling to afford and find modest 2-3 BR homes.
+6 5 - making bigger homes doesn't do a lot to help the housing crisis, better planning on
new construction will
+s 5 City should adopt Floor Area Ratios. Also neighbors should have imput during design
phase.
+4 S. Out of control growth is not a good excuse to make the RWC neighborhoods loose
their character and feel. We have to decide what is important: developers/flippers making
lots of money or our city character. The downtown has already decided for the first, I don't
want it to spill over into the neighborhoods
+3 41 support some regulation to keep sizes in check, but we do need to allow people add
on to their homes. The "quaint homes" are often way too small. I don't have an issue with
second stories in general as long as the bulk is not too great. (I've seen one 3 story home that
is absurd.)
+3 5 strongly support because we must pay attention to how our built heritage contributes
to our neighborhood quality, and it is NOT a self-regulating system.
+1 5. This happened on our block of Connecticut. Tore down a cut King home and built a
ugly, out of place two story home. Total eyesore and looks out of place.
R 5 Restrictions on two story additions.
