6.A. - Page 1 of 23 <br />/<;iik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />wended 1967 <br />'�Zw <br />DATE: November 19, 2018 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Professional Services Agreement with Rincon Consultants, Inc. for Environmental Consulting Services for <br />the City -Initiated Mixed -Use Live/Work Zoning and General Plan Amendment <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement for environmental <br />consulting services with Rincon Consultants, Inc. in the amount of $92,527 for the preparation of a <br />Supplemental Environmental Impact Report or other appropriate environmental analysis in accordance <br />with the California Environmental Quality Act for the City initiated Mixed -Use Live/Work Zoning and <br />General Plan amendments. <br />STRATEGIC INITIATIVE <br />Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Mixed -Use Live/Work (MULW) and Mixed -Use Live/Work — Emergency Shelter Overlay (MULW-S) <br />zoning districts are primarily located near corridors, including Arguello, EI Camino Real, Rolison, <br />Winslow, and Woodside, and total approximately 37 acres (see Figure 1 below). This zoning designation <br />was established in 2013 with the goal of facilitating a creative mix of residencies and low intensity <br />workplaces. While live/work units are conditionally allowed, standalone residential units are not <br />permitted.
