6.E. - Page 1 of 4 <br />/<;i-ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />wended 1967 <br />*A/ <br />DATE: November 19, 2018 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Final Acceptance — 2016-2017 Sanitary Sewer and Watermain Replacement Project <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Accept, by motion, the 2016-2017 Sanitary Sewer and Watermain Replacement Project, authorize the <br />release of bonds and retention according to City procedures. <br />STRATEGIC INITIATIVE <br />Public Safety <br />BACKGROUND <br />On May 8, 2017 the City Council awarded the construction contract for the 2016-2017 Sanitary Sewer <br />and Watermain Replacement Project to Casey Construction, Inc. of Emerald Hills for their responsive <br />and responsible low bid of $5,673,488. <br />The project replaced and furnished approximately 18,149 lineal feet of 6 -inch, 8 -inch, 10 -inch and 12 - <br />inch vitrified clay pipe (VCP) sewer main with new 6 -inch, 8 -inch and 15 -inch polyvinyl chloride pipe <br />(PVC), 261 sanitary sewer manholes, 427 sanitary sewer laterals, 4,209 linear feet of 4 -inch and 6 -inch <br />cast iron pipe (CIP) with new 6 -inch and 8 -inch polyvinyl chloride pipe (PVC), 123 water lateral service <br />connections and 8 fire hydrants. <br />The project area included Palm Avenue, Hudson Street, Poplar Avenue, Kentfield Avenue, Union Avenue, <br />Oxford Street, Orchard Avenue, Nueva Street, Bonita Avenue, Atherwood Avenue, Compass Drive, <br />Trident Drive, Myrtle Street, Carolina Avenue, Woodside Road and Virginia Avenue within Redwood City <br />corporate limits. <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />82 <br />
