6.F. - Page 2 of 4 <br />Associated work included mobilization, demobilization, traffic controls, public notification, furnishing <br />and installation of project signs, work in conjunction with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination <br />System (NPDES) program and other incidentals, saw -cutting, pavement removal and trenching, sheeting, <br />shoring and bracing, dewatering, backfill, controlled density fill, base compaction, sidewalk restoration, <br />landscape restoration, and asphalt and concrete pavement restoration work. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The project was awarded for a base bid of $1,404,140. The project was successfully completed in <br />accordance with the plans and specifications. One change order was issued totaling $45,526. The final <br />contract amount is $1,449,666 which is 3.24% more than the initially awarded contract amount. The <br />change order was due to unforeseen field conditions that resulted in additional work requested by the <br />City that was not within the original scope of work, but was necessary to complete the project. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Sufficient funding for this contract was previously approved as Sewer Fund Capital Projects — Sewer <br />Pump Station Rehabilitation Program. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />This project was previously determined to be categorically exempt under CEQA Guidelines Section <br />15301, Class 1 (Existing Facilities) at the time of contract award. A Notice of Exemption was filed with <br />the San Mateo County Recorder on May 26, 2017. <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Public Notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed at least, 72 <br />hours prior to the meeting. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Council may choose not to accept the project or not authorize the release of contractor's bonds and <br />retention; however, this would be contrary to the terms of the contract, prior Council action, and public <br />contracting code. <br />ATTACH M E NTS <br />Project Location Map <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcitV.org <br />87 <br />
