The project has been completed in accordance with the plans and specifications for a total cost of $1,147,876.56 which is 4.74% more than the original bid amount. FISCAL IMPACT Funds for the general work of this project were approved and appropriated in the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 budget as Water Fund Capital Projects — Distribution System Replacement Program which had an available balance of $1,963,746.63 as of September 30, 2018. ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW As the lead agency, City of Redwood City determined that the 2017-2018 Watermain Replacement Project meets the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) exemption criteria as set forth in Section 15302(C) (replacement or reconstruction of existing utility system and/or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of capacity). Furthermore, this project was designed compliant with the City's Engineering Standards and currently accepted practices. This project did not require a National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permit for stormwater discharges associated with construction and land disturbances activities pursuant to Attachment A.2 of Order 2010-0014-DWQwhich exempts projects to update existing lines and facilities. PUBLIC NOTICE Public Notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72 hours prior to the meeting ALTERNATIVES The City Council may choose not to accept the project or authorize the release of bonds and retention; however, this would be contrary to the terms of the contract, prior Council action, and public contracting code.
