<br /> 8A <br /> Attachme"~e 13 <br />ANNUAL ACTION PLAN 2006 - 2007 <br />COMMUNITY OBJECTIVES & PRIORITY STRATEGIES FY 2005~201 0 <br />The goal of the City of Redwood City is to provide safe and sanitary housing opportunities in <br />suitable locations for all segments of the population. The target group to be assisted under <br />each goal is households with incomes at or below 80% of median income for San Mateo <br />County. <br />The City's 2005-2010 Annual Action Plan demonstrates a relationship between the <br />Consolidated Plan Priorities and activities selected for funding during the first year of the <br />Plan. The major theme of this Consolidated Plan is "Housing production and basic human <br />needs". The proposed activities, to be undertaken with CDBG and HOME funds, reflect the <br />City's strategy to target funds which integrate a continuum of activities ranging from homeless <br />assistance to economic development and permanent housing. All activities proposed to be <br />funded will meet one or more of the City's Consolidated Plan priorities. The City has <br />identified a number of programs that will be delivered under each Priority. The Priority <br />Strategies are: <br />Prioritv Strateav # I - Expansion and preservation of affordable housina - The goal of the <br />City is to increase the affordable housing stock and provide decent. safe, and sanitary <br />housing in adequate supply and at affordability levels for a wide range of residents from <br />low income to poverty level. <br />Priority Strateav # 2 - Provide public service activities that help to reduce poverty, prevent <br />homelessness. and provide intervention proorams that meets basic human needs. and <br />assist special needs populations - The goal of the City is to provide a continuum of <br />services ranging from homeless prevention and homeless services, to supportive housing, <br />intervention programs, and services which respond to basic human needs including food, <br />health, safety, survival, independent living, and self-sufficiency. <br />Prioritv Strateov # 3 - Implement non-housina communitv development activities to <br />provide economic and physical improvements and facilities for social proqrams in low <br />income neiahborhoods - The City's goal is to promote economic and job development <br />activities for low income persons, and facilitate capital improvements that improves the <br />quality of life in low income neighborhoods, and provide a variety of public facilities where <br />anti-poverty and supportive intervention services can be delivered for a range of special <br />needs populations. <br />PROPOSED USE OF FUNDS For 2006-2007: The City of Redwood City will partner with <br />non-profit organizations and County agencies to undertake numerous programs and activities <br />that meet the three identified Priorities of the Consolidated Plan during Fiscal Year 2006 - <br />2007.
