6.D. - Page 2 of 6
proposed amendment shall set a not to exceed amount of $70,000, for a total aggregate amount of
$115,500.
This amendment allows Buildingeye to continue providing technical support, enhancements, and
maintenance of the "buildingeye" application. Without it, the City would potentially be unable to seek
assistance if problems arose with the application. Additionally, the application provides alerts and visual
display of permit information for community members, which would otherwise be unavailable.
FISCAL IMPACT
The City assesses a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Fee on all building permits, which is recorded
as General Fund Revenue and is then assigned for GIS related services in the fund balance of the General
Fund. The GIS Fee is specifically collected for the delivery of services, such as this, that are related to
technologies that support the administration of Community Development. There was sufficient revenue
collected in Fiscal Year 2017-18 to pay the full costs of this service. A mid -year Budget Amendment will be
submitted for City Council consideration to appropriate these expenditures.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA
Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.
PUBLIC NOTICE
Public Notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72
hours prior to the meeting.
ALTERNATIVES
The City Council could elect to not approve this amendment, which may limit public access to visual
geographic representations of City permit data.
ATTACHMENTS
Amendment No. 1 to Municipality Service Agreement
REPORT PREPARED BY:
Christopher Dacumos, Management Analyst II
cdacumos@redwoodcity.org
780-5957
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
80
