The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) states that the Continuum of Care <br />Program is <br />"designed to promote communitywide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness; provide <br />funding for efforts by nonprofit providers and State and local governments to quickly rehouse <br />homeless individuals and families while minimizing the trauma and dislocation caused to <br />homeless individuals, families, and communities by homelessness; promote access to and effect <br />utilization of mainstream programs by homeless individuals and families; and optimize self- <br />sufficiency among individuals and families experiencing homelessness". <br />San Mateo County, as the local lead agency for the Continuum of Care, will submit the application to the <br />State Homeless Coordinating and Financing Council by the end of December 2018. Specific programs and <br />projects have not been determined at this time. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The City of Redwood City, County and San Mateo, and non -profits that operate within the City and County <br />will be eligible for a significant amount of funding as noted in this report. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA <br />Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably <br />foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Public Notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72 <br />hours prior to the meeting <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore <br />394 <br />
