R 1. Unless the City buys land specifically for building affordable housing, City owned land is <br />supposed to benefit all. <br />+i 1. More housing?!? All the massive "unaffordable housing projects" seem to have staggering <br />vacancy levels. MORE housing is obviously not the answer. <br />+� 1- we need parks and green space too, e.g. NYC's foresight of Central Park. Don't pave <br />everything... <br />R 1 Building affordable housing is time consuming and expensive. A better way to provide <br />immediate relief to low income residents would be through a housing voucher system. Simply <br />put: pat the bulk of their rent for them. <br />R 1The only way to get truly sustainable affordable housing is to reduce regulations on <br />development in order to make it cheaper. Forcing government -centered "solutions" will only <br />make the problem worse <br />g 1) City owned land is for all of us to share. If RWC would like to subsidize affordable housing <br />for teachers/police/home healthcare workers, etc, they should legislate laws to ensure that of <br />every development, a certain percentage need to be zoned for affordable housing. Build it into <br />the existing developments or retro -actively mandate it so ... @ <br />�1- since I've heard from the Council that most city owner land consists of parking lots, I feel <br />this is a bad idea. It's like punishing the majority because of greed driven developers <br />R 1 - the city should change land use regulations and fast track permits to encourage building <br />and make it cheaper! We need more housing!! Build build build!!! <br />1 The city should foreclose on the burned out building on Woodside road. Give the land to a <br />developer and let them build a 20 story low income building <br />2 One of the main problems of rent is LLC buying buildings and charging high rents to give their <br />investors a good return on their investment. There are some goof land lords out there that <br />would rather have a good lasting tenant with a cheaper rent.The city has enough to do than be <br />someone's land lord. <br />
