He said the Architectural Historian said the
property did not qualify for federal, state or local historic status. However, 702 Warren
Street contains a high level of historic integrity.

Jaime Gonzales, owner/applicant, said he is not sure what he wants to do with his
properties, he just wants to know what significance they have, if any.

Chair Rolandelli said the consultant gave these properties a 62 Rating, found ineligible
for national register, California register, or local designation through survey evaluation.

Peggy Bruggman, resident near the properties, expressed concern about the types of
structures that would replace these properties. She has resided in the neighbol11ood for
23 years, and likes the neighborhood character.

Gwenythe Scove said this particular block on Brewster is still in tact, with nothing from
the 60's intruding. She said she would like to see 313 Fuller moved to the corner of
Brewster & Arguello, which is a vacant lot

Committee Member Bursak said this issue is less about historic, and more about
character. He cited the Steinbeck Museum in Salinas as an example as to what might
be done with these properties.

Ms. Bruggman said the mature Oak Trees add to the character of the neighborhood.

Mr. Gonzales said he has no plans to demolish anything; he just wants to know his
options.

Chair Rolandelli mentioned a phone call he received from Judy Buchan (neighborhood
resident) asking that neighborhood character be preserved.
