<br />***************************************************************************************************************************** <br />7. STAFF REPORTS <br />A. Housing and Human Concerns Committee 2006/2007 Funding Recommendations <br />for the Human Services Financial Assistance (HSFA) Program <br />Kevin Bondonno, Chair of the HHCC, explained the process used to determine <br />recommendations for funding stating that it is the third year that the HHCC has <br />worked with very explicit funding goals and priorities in which to evaluate the <br />agencies and programs. He further explained the HSFA recommendations stating <br />that the final Council decisions will be made in the budget deliberations. These <br />recommendations service the basic human needs such as emergency assistance <br />for the homeless and at risk of being homeless with food, shelter, and clothing. He <br />highlighted some of the various recommendations. <br />Recommendation: <br />Give staff direction to incorporate the Housing and Human Concerns Committee's <br />recommendations for HSFA for FY 06-07 into the FY 06-07 budget to be <br />presented for review by Council in June. HSFA recommendations are being <br />presented this evening as a part of the overall Annual Action Plan for the City's <br />use of HUD funds. The Council will not take any action at this time. <br />Consensus from Council was for staff to move forward to the budget process. <br />8. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />A. Annual Action Plan to the Consolidated Plan for FY 2006/07 - CITY <br />COUNCIUREDEVELOPMENTAGENCY <br />HHCC Chairperson Kevin Bondonno combined the presentation with the <br />HHCC recommendations for HSFA funding in Item 7.A. He explained the <br />components of the process. He thanked the Council and asked the HHCC <br />members to stand and be acknowledged. <br />Council thanked the HHCC members for the work and report. <br />Mayor Pierce opened the public hearing. <br />Public Comment: <br />Kitty Lopez, Executive Director of Samaritan House, thanked the Council <br />and City for the ongoing partnership in providing services through Safe <br />Harbor, the emergency shelter and the Redwood City medical and dental <br />clinics.
