Adopt the findings in conformance with section 40.6 of the Historic <br /> Preservation Ordinance. <br />The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote. MINUTE ORDER 06-90 <br />9. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST - <br />A. Legislation (information only) - This sub-section involves possible discussion of <br />City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California Cities <br />Priority Focus Bulletin No. 16-2006 and 17-2006. Council may direct staff to act <br />on positions taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities Priority Focus <br />available in City Clerk's Department.) <br />B. Signage Around Uncontrolled Intersections <br />Council Member Bain, Traffic Ad Hoc Committee Member made the presentation <br />(PowerPoint presentation on file) stating that he sent out 20 letters to residents <br />and received three responses including an e-mail letter that was just provided to <br />Council. He further stated that he and Council Member Aguirre had discussed the <br />various traffic related issues and that this is one of those. <br />Council Members asked various questions related to whether data had been <br />received from Police and Fire, if unintended consequences might arise due to <br />policy creation, and whether increased liability might occur if a higher standard is <br />set. Council comments included applaud for making the recommendations, <br />concern with a sense of false security being created and the request for sufficient <br />data and community input. <br />Council Member Sain stated that the proposal was designed to set a higher <br />standard and be proactive. Council consensus was to request staff to report back <br />with information on State Code differences, liability issues and input from <br />Engineering, Police and Fire departments. <br />10.
