<br /> 5.1E <br /> Page 2 <br />The City will fully implement a dedicated Workers' Compensation and Safety Division <br />function at the beginning of fiscal year 2006-2007. This will ensure that an aggressive <br />case management approach is being practiced by working collaboratively with Claims <br />Management Inc. Therefore, we are requesting that Council authorize renewing CMl's <br />agreement for third-party administrative services for workers' compensation effective <br />July 1,2006. <br />Alternative <br />Council could direct the Human Resources Department to enter initiate an RFP process <br />for TPA services. <br />Fiscal impact <br />The annual cost for the base contract for TPA services provided by CMI is $160,000, <br />these funds have been budgeted in FY 2006-07 budget.
