R 1 - CalTrain is a perfectly great mode of transportation and we shouldn't invest resource in
a ferry service. Wasteful.
R 1 increased traffic in sensitive areas bad for Nesting bird and animal habitat Lots of small
boats rowers on water creating unsafe conditions.
+1 1 - A ferry is not practical from the Peninsula to SF. It would take too long and not n
convenient. Where is the BART extension between San Jose & SF that we the taxpayers
already paid for? We have been waiting > 20 years for this. And what happened to that
money?
+1 1 "Redwood City - San Francisco ferry service would be a valuable mode of transportation
between the Peninsula and San Francisco."
+1 2 - too far from downtown and too long to get to SF would mean it would be
underutilized
+7 2 - makes more sense for east bay commutes, not to SF
+1 11 like the "idea" of ferry service but have heard the subsidies necessary to implement it
would be astronomical. And you would also have the problem of getting to and from the ferry
terminals which would add to the time and cost of the trip (i.e. parking).
R 1.1 don't want to take a ferry. Too slow and probably more costly than the train.
+1 1) Seaport Blvd and Woodside Rd (both the 101 exit and Woodside corridor) are already at
an over -capacity for traffic. The ferry idea is great, but when you factor in all the new
commuters/Ober drivers picking up ferry commuters added into the existing bad congestion
along the Seaport/Woodside corridor you're looking at a nightmare. Strongly oppose this!
+1 2. Train seems faster and more efficient.
+7 2 - A ferry service is unlikely to remove enough cars to be worth the cost, especially
compared to improved bus/train services and public transit usage initiatives.
R 21 don't see why a ferry is more worthwhile than better caltrain and bus service
