As an administrator in a public entity, Barbara provides unparalleled understanding of the <br />application of the Americans with Disabilities Act and related legislation. In addition to assisting public entities <br />with compliance with the ADA, Barbara has conducted compliance reviews for the Department of the Interior <br />to audit for compliance with the ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and related civil rights laws and <br />regulations. Barbara has served as an expert witness for the Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney <br />General. Additionally, Barbara is a licensed occupational therapist. Michael <br />is a certified accessibility specialist through <br />the International Conference of Building <br />Officials (ICC), certified in Accessibility, <br />Usability and Plans examination and is a <br />California certified CASp inspector (# 152). <br />Michael has completed the updated DSA <br />courses regarding the 2010 California <br />Building Code. Michael has provided <br />numerous staff development sessions to <br />public entities regarding accessibility <br />requirements. Her educational background includes a degree in Building <br />Inspection Technology from Butte College and coursework in Architectural Project Management at California <br />State University with emphasis on construction plans and specifications, construction materials and systems, <br />building codes, construction graphics and architectural design. Candice has completed the updated DSA <br />courses regarding the 2013 California Building Code that include 2013 CBC Amendments, Plan Review (Access <br />2013 CBC), Accessible Public Housing Regulations, Transient Lodging, Housing and Social Service Enter <br />Establishments. Candice also has International Code Council (ICC) Certification for Accessibility, Usability and <br />Plans Examiner. Candice is a Certified Combination Building Inspector. As a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, <br />Candice volunteers to help build residential homes.
