8.A. - Page 14 of 15 <br />COMMERCIAL AND MULTI -FAMILY RESIDENTIAL (PROPOSED UNSCHEDULED SERVICES RATES) <br />The services offered and the recommended rates are listed below. <br />• Distance Charges for containers located 50 to 100 feet or less from access point for contractor's <br />collection vehicle —10% of the monthly base rate. <br />• Distance Charges for containers located 101 feet or more from access point for contractor's <br />collection vehicle — 25% of the monthly base rate. <br />• Extra Pick-up fee — 25% of the base monthly rate for the size of container collected once per <br />week — per collection event. <br />• Additional Targeted Recyclable Materials or Organic Materials Cart Rental or Purchase — Rental <br />$3.43 per month, Purchase 64 gallon cart $71.97, Purchase 96 gallon cart $78.83. <br />• Fee to Collect Contaminated Targeted Recyclable Materials or Organic Materials Container — <br />25% of the base monthly rate for the size of the container collected once per week plus $17.14 <br />(per collection event). <br />• Key Service - $10.85 per collection event, Lock Purchase $19.42 (one time per account). <br />• Overage Fee —100% of the base monthly rate per collection event <br />• Overage Bag Cost - 50% of the base monthly rate or a minimum of $9.13 (whichever is greater) — <br />per bag. <br />• Dirty Cart Replacement - $74.25 per 32 gallon cart, $85.68 per 64 gallon cart, $97.11 per 96 <br />gallon cart <br />• Container Cleaning - $57.13 per cart, $97.11 per Bin or Drop Box. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON RECOMMENDED RATES <br />At the January 28, 2019 public hearing, the City Council will consider oral and written testimony, as well <br />as written protests by property owners and customers of record against the proposed solid waste <br />service rate increases. Following the hearing, the City Council may adopt a resolution that adopts the <br />proposed rates. If, prior to the close of the public input portion of the public hearing, written protests <br />are presented by a majority of customers of record or owners of a majority of parcels that receive solid <br />waste services, the City Council will not increase the rates from their existing level. <br />If you would like additional information on the proposed rates, please visit Public Works at 1400 <br />Broadway or call 650-780-7464. Any person interested, including all solid waste and recycling collection <br />customers of the City of Redwood City may appear at the public hearing and be heard on any matter <br />related to the proposed increase in rates. <br />If you wish to file a written protest, please submit or mail a letter in a sealed envelope addressed to <br />Solid Waste Rates, City Clerk, City of Redwood City, 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA 94063. <br />Your written protest must include: (i) A statement that it is a protest against the proposed change in <br />rates which is the subject of the hearing. (ii) Name of the record owner or customer of record; (iii) <br />Identity of the affected parcel by assessor's parcel number or service address; and (iv) Original signature <br />of the record owner or customer of record with respect to the identified parcel. Protests will not be <br />counted if any of the required elements (i through iv) are omitted. The City Clerk must receive your <br />protest at City Hall by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2019. Protests can also be submitted at the <br />City Council meeting at 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2019 until the close of the public input portion of <br />the public hearing on the matter. <br />630 <br />
