Waive Second Reading and Adopt an Ordinance Regarding the Publication of Ordinances; <br />2. Waive Second Reading and Adopt an Ordinance Regarding the Publication of a Notice of Public Hearing <br />on the Budget. <br />STRATEGIC INITIATIVE <br />Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />On November 6, 2018, a general election was held in the City and a measure was submitted to the voters <br />amending the City Charter to update certain provisions, including publication procedures. On December <br />6, 2018, the San Mateo County Chief Elections Officer certified the results of the election, including the <br />passage of the proposed City Charter amendments. On December 10, 2018 the City Council adopted <br />Resolution No. 15723 reciting the facts and declaring the results of the November 6, 2018 general election, <br />including the passage of the proposed City Charter amendments. On December 21, 2018, the City Clerk <br />submitted a certified copy of the City Charter amendments to the San Mateo County Recorder's office, <br />where they were duly recorded. On that same date, the City Clerk submitted a certified copy of the City <br />Charter amendments to the California Secretary of State.
