Among many issues <br />regarding development east of RT101, these lands are at high risk for sea level rise. San Mateo County Board of <br />Supervisors is currently leading this investigation into sea change impacts, and how best to mitigate potential <br />impacts: <br />About -- Sea Change San Mateo County <br />Redwood City should not be approving further development in such a flood zone and high risk area for sea level <br />rise! The Harbor View Project is completely inconsistent with these studies and how RWC should work to <br />mitigate risk in the future. <br />Additionally, in the previous studies of the Cargill Project, also, east of RT101, the CEQA study showed <br />numerous issues which would impact RWC, and noted that highway 101's width cannot be expanded in this <br />area. Significant increased traffic is inevitable, and simply altering on-off ramps to mitigate the impact of 4500 <br />-yew employees is not sufficient: route 101 cannot be widened. Traffic congestion will simply worsen. <br />Major new developments need to be along the public transit corridor of Caltrans at minimum. The council <br />should abide by the General Plan as approved. l request that you do not modify the General Plan to <br />accommodate the Harbor View Project. <br />Sincerely, <br />Judith Borcz <br />Redwood City <br />
