2. That would solve one problem, but are theses businesses planning on hiring the already housed unemployed? If not, where are
they going to live? We already have a housing shortage. Are these employees going to be paid enough to compete in the housing
market and drive up the price of rental housing? Are they going to compete for the already short supply of affordable housing? And
we already have the Facebook complex coming on line with 35,000 new employees and about 1200 new homes. What are the
developers planning on contributing to address the housing problem? And money alone is not enough in this area with a shortage of
builldable land; we need a site on which to build housing.
3. The last is a concern, not about this particular project by itself, but about the whole array of development taking place between
Highway 101 and the Bay. Is Redwood City on the hook for protecting this development from sea rise? The rate of melting of
Antarctica and Greenland has already surpassed scientific predictions and my understanding that Antarctica alone can raise the sea
level 65 feet. Are they developers building at their own risk?
Thank yuo for listening to my concerns. It is already difficult enough for everyone to get around the Bay Area and for those not
fortunate enough to either work in the tech industry or already own a house to find housing. This project seems that it will make an
already bad situation even worse.
Kendyll
