6.H.- Page 8of8 <br />6.3.A. - Page 2 <br />the Police Department will be able to reduce the amount of property stored by instituting <br />a disposal process approximately 25% more efficient than the one in use today. <br />Amending RCMC Chapter 2 Article VI will also remove the conflict between the <br />municipal code and California Welfare and Institutions Code Section 217, which was <br />updated subsequent to the passage of Chapter 2 Article VI, that requires unclaimed <br />property be held for a minimum of 90 days prior to being donated to a qualifying <br />organization. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />The City Council could choose not to authorize the ordinance change.
