8.A. - Page 36 of 77 <br />Protected Bikeway Demo <br />On Saturday October 20th, a protected bikeway <br />demo was hosted on EI Camino between <br />Chestnut and Cedar Street, in partnership with <br />Caltrans, SamTrans, and Redwood City staff. The <br />protected bikeway was created using cones and <br />temporary planters to give both cyclists and <br />drivers an idea of the look and feel of a protected <br />bike lane on EI Camino. The installation was up <br />for three hours and people stopped by to learn <br />more about the design concepts for the study <br />corridor and to test out the bikeway using either <br />their own bike or the Bird scooters available for <br />test rides. The project team hosted displays of the <br />design concepts alongside the adjacent sidewalk <br />and sought input from passersby and people who <br />came to test the demonstration bike lane. <br />21 <br />185 <br />
