8.A. - Page 40 of 77 <br />LOCAL VISION <br />The adopted EI Camino Real Corridor Plan calls <br />for multi -modal improvements on EI Camino <br />within City limits (generally between F Street <br />and Oakwood Drive). This Bike & Ped Safety <br />Improvement Study builds off those concepts <br />between Maple Street and Charter Street, <br />which includes a protected bikeway through <br />parking removal, crosswalk safety improvements <br />at intersections and potential new crossings, <br />and enhanced opportunities for public spaces <br />and Iandscaping.The refined vision includes <br />details of how these concepts would fit within <br />the street cross-section, complementary safety <br />improvements at intersections, and detailed <br />bus stop layouts to develop a cohesive set of <br />conceptual drawings for the corridor. <br />Plans presented in this memo are conceptual <br />25 in nature; further work is required before the <br />improvements are implemented, which is <br />considered a long-term action.
