Dear city council members,
I am writing to address the districting issue currently being reviewed. With the many options you have to consider there
is one factor that is an obvious/easy decision: Redwood Shores should be ONE district for upcoming district
elections. Redwood Shores meets the legal guidelines being a uniquely distinct area divided by water and
highway. The issues pertaining to Redwood Shores differ greatly from other areas of Redwood City and the close knit
community needs representation for those issues. Redwood Shores should not be divided in any way to accommodate
members of the council, current or future. The whole point of creating districts is appropriate representation. Redwood
Shores is already a separate area of the city, and any district lines should accurately reflect that. Dividing our community
would damage our neighborhoods and would not benefit the city.
If you need more information about Redwood Shores, please reach out to me or another member of Redwood Shores
Community Association.
Thank you for your dedication to Redwood City and it's residents.
-Shannon Guzzetta
Redwood Shores Community Association
723 Newport Circle, Redwood City 94065
650-922-8163
