EXHIBIT "A"
SCOPE OF SERVICES
1. Introduction
The City of Redwood City has identified several tasks that are a continuation of work
previously performed as part of the seismic upgrade program.
Under a separate Agreement executed in 2012 with G&E Engineering Systems, Inc.
(G&E), G&E prepared a design package for the Seismic Upgrade of Peninsula Tank No.
2. The package included drawings, specifications and an engineer's cost estimate. The
City now wishes to issue this project for bid. G&E will close operations in the near future.
The Consultant will update the design package and deliver as described in the present Scope
of Work. Tasks 1, 2 and 3, below, describe the completion of the bid documents,
consulting services during bid, and consulting services during construction, respectively.
In addition, the City requires the Consultant to provide support on other ongoing capital
improvement projects. This work is described in Task 4, below. The primary need is to
support the City on peer review of seismic engineering matters during construction of the
California Reservoir. Other needs to be determined and can be assigned to various water
infrastructure sites throughout the City. Consulting will be requested on an as -needed basis.
2. Scope of Work
Task 1.0: Seismic Upgrade of Peninsula Tank No. 2 — Update and
Completion of Design Package
Consultant shall develop bid package; ensure all comments to work performed by G&E are
adequately addressed. If Consultant identifies any specification
revisions that are necessary, such as to address constructability issues, Consultant shall
communicate the changes to the City. The City shall be responsible for updating the
specifications.
Consultant shall update the construction cost estimate prepared by G&E to include cost
changes due to any design changes and escalate the estimated costs to correspond to an
early 2019 construction date.
Deliverables, Task 1.0:
1.
