Recommendation: <br />M/S Ira /Foust to: <br />Approve the Resolution requesting that the Peninsula Traffic Congestion Relief <br />Alliance and the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans) develop a <br />comprehensive plan for a community shuttle pilot program and bring the <br />completed plan back to council for final approval. (205) <br />RESOLUTION 14709 AUTHORIZING PENINSULA TRAFFIC CONGESTION RELIEF <br />ALLIANCE AND THE SAN MATEO COUNTY TRANSPORTATION DEMAND <br />MANAGEMENT AGENCY TO SUBMIT A "LIFE FUNDING" GRANT APPLICATION WITH <br />CITY /COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS OF SAN MATEO COUNTY FOR <br />OPERATION OF A COMMUNITY SHUTTLE SERVICE <br />The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote. <br />C. City Council Overarching Guidelines <br />Mayor Pierce explained that the current guidelines have been in place for the past <br />few years and asked if there was consensus to continue in the current form. <br />Council confirmed the continuation of the Overarching Guidelines of Community <br />Building, Communication, Aesthetics, Creating pedestrian - friendly public places, <br />and Quality of Life. (205) <br />D. Priority Setting — Areas of Advocacy <br />Mayor Pierce presented the areas of advocacy as ferry, rail, Highway <br />84/Woodside Road improvements, and shuttles. She stated that these would be <br />considered items to support or advocate for due to regional nature. She further <br />described the proposed criteria. <br />Council discussion ensued with an expressed desire for a transportation study <br />session to be held in the near future. <br />Mike Giari, Port of Redwood City Executive Director, referred to the updated letter <br />stating that it serves as reassurance that in taking the lead there is little or no <br />impact on the subvention payments from the Port to the City. <br />M/S Howard /Foust to accept the memorandum submitted by the Port of Redwood <br />City dated April 24, 2006.
