7.B. - Page 3 of 11
Communitv for all Aizes
The Commission supports the partnership between the City and the YMCA to develop new facilities to
provide new and improved services to seniors and community members of all ages. Multigenerational
interactions benefit all along the age spectrum. The Commission values the collaborative work that is
underway in designing the facilities that will support current and new services benefiting our seniors.
The Commission will continue to provide support and feedback to program staff at both the Veteran's
Memorial Senior Center and Fair Oaks Community Center and to continue to promote these services in
the community at large.
The Commission will also be a member of the taskforce for the CAFE — Age Friendly City initiative.
FISCAL IMPACT
Staff time is required to administer the work plan and assist the SAC in achieving its goals. It is not
anticipated that an additional appropriation will be required this fiscal year.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA
Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.
PUBLIC NOTICE
Public Notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72
hours prior to the meeting.
ALTERNATIVES
The City Council could provide alternative or additional direction on the draft work plan.
ATTACHMENTS
Attachment A: Senior Affairs Commission Work Plan
REPORT PREPARED BY:
Joanna Barrett, Administrative Assistant
jbarrett@redwoodcity.org
(650) 780-7252
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
187
