CLK-Pamela Aguilar <br />tom: Johanna Rasmussen <johanna_rasmussen@att.net> <br />cent: Monday, March 11, 2019 2:05 AM <br />To: GRP -City Council <br />Subject: District Election Mapping <br />Dear Mayor, Vice Mayor and Councilwomen, <br />I am writing to you regarding the vote that will be taken tomorrow evening re: District Elections <br />and Election Sequencing. <br />I strongly support the approval of Map 7-013f . <br />Here's why....... <br />Farm Hili has not had a resident Representative on the City Council since Barbara Pierce retired in <br />2015. Our neighborhood has undergone a great deal of change since 2015. We experience a variety <br />of issues and challenges that significantly impact our daily routines and overall quality of life. The <br />Farm Hill Street Improvement Plan or "Road Diet" was one of those changes. It increased cut <br />through traffic throughout our neighborhoods. Particularly, streets that immediately surround Farm <br />Hill, Jefferson, the Alameda and McGarvey. While traffic moving through Farm Hill is at an all <br />time high, traffic enforcement along these routes, is at an all time low. The growth & development <br />in Downtown has impacted us too! The amount of time it takes us to drive our children to school, <br />-t across town to Kaiser and/or to Highways 101 and 280 have doubled, somedays they are even <br />tripled. <br />Historically, Farm Hill has had the highest number of registered voters and the highest voter <br />turnout levels in all of Redwood City. If the election sequencing for District 7 is delayed until 2022, <br />we will have to go 7 years with a resident Representative. The residents of Farm Hill deserve to <br />have equal representation and the opportunity to elect a District Representative in 2020. <br />Please vote to approve District Map 7-013f <br />Thanks for listening, <br />Johanna Rasmussen <br />
