6.C. - Page 26 of 121 <br />e. All materials and substances shall be disposed of at the Contractor's expense, and shall <br />be included as part of the bid item prices. Hazardous materials and substances shall be <br />disposed of in accordance with all applicable state, federal, and city requirements. <br />f. Contractor shall execute final cleaning prior to final inspection which includes, but is not <br />limited to: Remove grease, dust, dirt, stains, labels, fingerprints and other foreign <br />materials from exposed finished surfaces, Repair, patch, and touch up marred surfaces <br />to match adjacent finishes, mechanically sweep paved areas, Remove waste and surplus <br />materials, rubbish and construction items from Site. The cleaning of equipment or <br />materials shall not be performed on-site or in the street using soaps, solvents, <br />degreasers, steam cleaning or equivalent methods. All cleanup must be performed in a <br />designated area that will not allow the cleaning rinse to flow off-site or into streets, <br />gutters, storm drains, or creeks. <br />6. Final inspection and Guarantees <br />a. At least five (S) working days' notice shall be given to the Project manager that the <br />project is ready for final inspection, that the Contractor has carefully inspected all <br />portions of the work and that all is correct. <br />b. Upon notice that the work is ready for final inspection, the Project manager together <br />with the Contractor, shall promptly make a joint inspection of the work and note <br />deficiencies, if any. If there are no deficiencies, or when noted deficiencies have been <br />corrected and Project manager finds the work acceptable, then the work can be <br />considered completed. <br />c. Contractor shall guarantee for one full year (365 days) from date of completion of the <br />work and acceptance thereof by the City, to repair or replace any improvements that <br />constitutes defect resulting from the use of inferior or defective materials, equipment or <br />workmanship. <br />7. Protection of public and private property, utilities, trees, and storm water: <br />a. The Contractor at his expense shall remove spillage resulting from hauling operations <br />along or across any public traveled way immediately. <br />b. The Contractor shall take appropriate steps such as watering to prevent airborne dust <br />due to work under this Contract. Contractor shall remove and dispose daily at his cost, <br />off-site of: debris, waste and rubbish from the work area and the construction site. <br />Contractor to supply own water. <br />c. The Contractor shall contact U.S.A North (811) prior to starting any work and be solely <br />responsible for the protection and care of previously installed underground utilities, <br />including, but not limited to, storm drains, sanitary sewers, water mains, utility ducts, <br />and appurtenant structures, underlying the right of way improvements to be <br />constructed.
