6.C. - Page 25 of 121 <br />nearest linear foot. ADA ramps shall be paid per unit installed. Additional sub -base <br />excavation materials shall be paid to the nearest tenth cubic yard. <br />g. Asphalt replacement must be IN-KIND. <br />3. Hours of Construction <br />a. Working hours shall be from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, unless <br />otherwise specified for off-peak hours. <br />b. Contractor shall not schedule construction activities on holidays and /or weekends and <br />other City declared holidays. <br />4. Notification of property owners of upcoming work at their location: <br />a. Posting of "No Parking" signs at least 72 hours prior to start of work. Signs will be <br />furnished by the City. <br />b. Notify residents, businesses, or others located near work site 7 days prior to start of <br />work. <br />5. Preparation and Secure sites at end of each workday at various locations throughout the City: <br />a. The Contractor shall keep the sidewalk open at all times unless a trench location makes <br />closure unavoidable, in which case the sidewalk may be closed while working. The <br />Contractor shall make provisions for pedestrian access if sidewalk is closed. No open <br />trenches will be allowed overnight. Steel plating with cut back shall be installed until <br />temporary surfacing can be constructed. <br />b. The Contractor shall maintain access to all driveways, except when actually doing <br />construction within the driveway boundaries, at which time, partial access will be <br />maintained unless alternate arrangements can be made with the property owners or <br />tenants in advance. At all times, the Contractor shall provide safe and adequate passage <br />for vehicular and pedestrian traffic through, around and adjacent to all construction <br />operations by use of detours, signs, cones, traffic barriers, flaggers, bridging or other <br />City approved means. <br />c. No work shall proceed on site unless temporary barriers, fences, gates and protection <br />are installed and functioning. <br />d. Contractor shall be responsible for supplying, placing, and maintaining all construction <br />signs, lighted barricades, cones, and other related traffic safety equipment to assure the <br />safety of motorists as well as pedestrians.
