EXHIBIT "A" <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />Consultant will be an advocate on behalf of the City and represent the City's best interests in <br />providing the services set forth in this Agreement. Consultant's Construction Manager will <br />extensively coordinate with City staff, while adding expertise with Underground Utility District <br />(UUD) projects. Consultant will provide project coordination by performing project administration <br />and monitoring and reporting of project budget, schedule, progress, and issues as further <br />described below. <br />The following outlines Consultant's tasks to provide construction management (CM) services <br />during the Pre -Construction, Construction, and Post -Construction phases and achieve the <br />objectives of the Middlefield Road Phase 1 Underground Utility District Project (Project). <br />Task 1- Pre -Construction Phase: <br />• Review plans and specifications and become familiar with the Project's design and <br />construction. <br />Meet with representatives from the City, City's Construction Inspector, PG&E, AT&T, <br />MCI, Comcast, Caltrans, Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR), Bellecci & Associates (Project <br />Designer), the contractor selected for Project construction (Contractor), and other project <br />stakeholders to introduce roles and responsibilities for the project. Emphasize project <br />issues including traffic -control, job and public safety, maintaining project schedule and <br />costs, and ensuring public outreach. Prepare and distribute meeting minutes to <br />participants. <br />Establish communication and maintain coordination with the City, utility companies, and <br />permitting agencies including, but not limited to, Caltrans and UPRR. Initial critical <br />coordination issues include but are not limited to the following: <br />o Coordinate with Contractor and Caltrans to work in State right of way (RAN) and <br />boring beneath Woodside Road. <br />o Coordinate with Contractor and UPRR to work near the railroad tracks on Chestnut <br />Street. <br />o Coordinate with PG&E (gas and electrical), AT&T, and Comcast on Form B, joint <br />trench, and substructures. Review and compare various utility company Intent <br />Drawings with the Project's construction drawings. <br />• Review the Contractor's overall baseline construction schedule and review for <br />compliance with the contract specifications. <br />• Review Contractor's Form B to ensure that it is compliant with Rule 20 criteria and <br />submit to the utility companies for approval. <br />Review and assign various Contractor submittals to the appropriate Project team <br />members for review and approval.
