The City Council could choose not to authorize the execution of the letter permit. The selection of <br /> this alternative would end a sixty-seven year long standing tradition in Redwood City. <br />Fiscal Impact <br />Based on expenditures for the 2005 celebration and the event plans for 2006, the total projected cost to <br />the City will be approximately $45,300. Total Police Department overtime costs for traffic and crowd <br />control is projected at $30,000. Public Works Services Department costs for barricade rental and <br />overtime are projected at $9,800, and Fire Department overtime is projected at $4,000. Park and <br />Recreation Department staff and equipment costs are projected at $1 ,500. Police Department overtime <br />costs are budgeted and will be absorbed by the Redevelopment Department's Economic Development <br />Fund.
